The Rogue Stitch

Words of wisdom, wit, and whatever else you need.

From the halls of Congress:

So Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) finally apologized today for striking a Capitol Hill cop (not to be confused with a perhaps comparable Keystone Kop).

The apology, however, came after the convening of a federal grand jury to discuss the possibility of prosecution.

And I say--as must be said--throw the book at her.

I don't care what excuse she comes up with, whether it be racially charged or one of entitlement. If I were to hit a cop, I'd be thrown in jail immediately rather than being allowed to spout off on every news channel about how my hair played into the event.

For shame, Cynthia.

Thumbs down, Rick James style.

And you know what really gets me? The House is made up of a bunch of lazy fuckers.

As of March 21, the House had only worked for 19 days, or a total of 118 hours. That's out of a possible 50 days for the session, or about 38%.

Now, the House is scheduled to work 97 days this year, with each rep. making $165,200.

That comes out to be slightly more than $1,700 a day, or roughly $213 an hour.

Remember, the federal minimum wage is $5.15/hour. A shameful rep. like McKinney or DeLay makes more in an hour than a full-time, minimum-wage employee does in a week.
