The Rogue Stitch

Words of wisdom, wit, and whatever else you need.

From Summit County, Colorado:

Day 25 of break: woke up to blue skies and the Pass buried in snow. Riding with the locals... call it vacation. Enjoy the pics.

Yeah, Colorado has 100 more inches of snow at this point in the season than last year. If this were California, I'd be saying hella gnar. As it is, I'll just say sweet. Check out the difference from the bottom to the top of the pass:

Why take a chair to the top when you can ride up in style? Btw, that's a 14ft road gap just waiting to be launched. Who got ya? Taxi.

Here's the first descent.

Dave's pointing at the trees, of course. We tracked them up rather well. But first, there was this great powder field to take care of:

Right. There. And the the kicker. Don't forget the kicker. Twenty-five frames to show you how an indy leads to a white-out. Here we go. I rode out of this hit, btw, and you know this, man.

Why yes, to air is human, to land smoothly is divine. The frames don't really show it, but the transition drop-off was sick. An extra couple of yards out was several more down. All in all, it worked. well.

As Ice Cube would say, today was a good day.

later.
