From Shea, Game 7 NLCS:

Well, this is it. Game 7 and, unfortunately, Perez is pitching. That's like sending Lynndie England to capture Baghdad. Best case scenario: the Mets win and we take home the IM football championship tonight. Worse case scenario: the Mets lose and I get an ulcer instead of some lousy t-shirt.

Just to note, I've discovered 26 alphabetical ways for Billy Wagner to die if he blows a save tonight for the Mets.

Elsewhere in the news........

Some hussie just broke this poor kid's heart. (Of course, she had to be Asian. )

Classic Kilborn clips. Where have you gone, Criag? Jon Stewart's schtik is growing old and Colbert's replacements are poor imitators. Bring back the sarcasm! (Admittedly, Stewart does well by interviewing Borat.)

Oh my god! the grocer has VD!

We don't study; we don't learn nuthin'; we just make big-ass snowballs.

Dove evolution. Cool.

Alright, that's all for now. I gotta run. Go Mets. We need you to win the Series. It's been a while...

Let's just hope Reyes and Wright don't wind up like these two.

From a snowy Colorado:

A fortnight before Halloween and I have to scrape ice off of my windshield? Ridiculous. And what was with Buffalo getting hit with 2ft? They don't even have mountains over there. Friggin' waste, man. Nice to see the snow a'falling in Boulder, though. One day closer to powder runs at Copper Mountain--hopefully with the bluebird skies seen here.

From a prematurely-made grave:

Well, hot damn; the Stitch has returned--with an all new design no less. Apparently, Jesus worked some magic and brought the site back like Lazarus.

I suppose a lot has happened since last I blogged. So much, therefore, about which to post, and so little time in which to do it. Howabout some highlights then?

The 2006 Great American Beer Festival

Yes, folks--it came with beer and left with none. I had my share, but missed out on a lot of the good brews. That's what you get going on the last day of the festival. D'oh!

Ha! Good times. Btw, in case you were wondering, the headphones were part of the silent disco. Wha? Silent disco--where the music is pumped through the headphones only. Yeah, odd to watch people dance without hearing the music yourself. Don't ask me where the Clark Kent glasses came from.

Again, I ranked the beers according to my own peculiar tastes:

(Brewery/Beer/Score)

Alaskan Brewing Co./Alaskan Smoked Porter/8
Alaskan Brewing Co./Oatmeal Stout/6.5
America's Brewing Co./Oompah Loompah Chocolate Beer/6
Atwater Block Brewery/Vanilla Java Porter/6.5
Barley Island Brewing Co./Black Magic Java Stout/7
Beer Co. (Detroit)/Detroit Dwarf/4
Dry Dock Brewing Co./Dark Lager/7.5
Flying Fish Brewing Co./Abbey Dubbel/8
Gella's Diner & Lb Brewing Co./American Wheat/6
Gella's Diner & Lb Brewing Co./Oatmeal Stout/4
Herkimer Pub & Brewery/Kellerbier/6
Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co./Sunset Wheat/6
Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales/Oro de Calabaza/5
Lakefront Brewery/New Grist/8
Long Valley Pub & Brewery/Joe's Oatmeal Stout/7
New Belgium Brewing Co./Mothership Wit Organic Wheat/7.5
Nodding Head Brewing Co./Ich Bin Ein Berliner Weisse/2
Odell Brewing Co./Easy Street Wheat/8
Oskar Blues Brewery/Dale's Pale Ale/5
Pennsylvania Brewing Co./Penn Weizen/8
Rock Bottom Brewery (Colorado Springs)/Dark Lager/7.5
Seabright Brewery/Oatmeal Stout/8
Shipyard Brewing Co./Export Ale/7
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co./Brown Ale/7
Six Rivers Brewery/Trula Pilsner/7.5
Smuttynose Brewing Co./Old Brown Dog Ale/6.5
Square One Brewery/Dunkel Weizen/4
Stone Brewing Co./Ruination I.P.A./3

Some notes for ya:

Herkimer's Kellerbier (which I gave a 6) won Gold Medal for Category14 (Cellar or Unfiltered Beer)

Seabright's Oatmeal Stout (which I gave an 8) won Silver Medal for Category 64 (Oatmeal Stout)

Six Rivers was out of its Chili Beer. Stitch fans may remember that I was unable to rank Black Mountain Brewing Co.'s Cave Creek Chili Beer last year, so there'll be no comparison. No mas chili! No mas chili!

Lakefront's New Grist was great. The Beer is the first beer brewed without malted barley or any gluten-containing products to be authorized by the U.S. Gov't. And it's made with sorghum.

What else, what else? Oh yeah, the Stitch made an appearance back east last week. NYC, baby! Another sake-infused evening at Satsko and a few pints of VT beer at the Giner Man.

And finally, doses of randomness to feed your habits:

Beer commercials from the 80s.

Sound advice from a tattoo artist.

George Lucas killed Stephen Colbert--with a light saber.

Knock, knock....

Levitra's newest (and probably best) commercial.

David Cross + I-talian Stereotypes = Funny Shit

Alright, folks, I'm out. Stay classy, San Diego...and thanks for stoppin' by. (Btw, this was post #100 for the Stitch. Call it a milestone if you'd like.)
